We are your friendly neighborhood café, steeped in history, having been part of Redlands since 1996 when the café concept was born in this beautiful, leafy residential suburb. A man named Alan sought a change in career direction and took over in late 1996, opening this lovely café on December 13.

As the story goes, Christmas Carols by Candlelight was taking place on that particular day in Cleveland. It was a cold, rainy day, and our café was the only one open. Alan, the new owner, described it as a big hit! However, the journey wasn’t easy for a budding new café. Alan faced many challenges, including economic difficulties and an ever-evolving menu. He often shared interesting stories about the hard work and dedication that everyone put in to make this café one of the best in the area. Slowly, other coffee shops opened nearby, but this café kept thriving!

After 25 years, the café changed hands, and we would like to introduce the current owners, Sai and Marina. They have made every effort to preserve Alan’s legacy while improving our service and maintaining great food for breakfast, lunch, and snacks, along with our special Merlo blend of coffee. The concept of a cozy, family-owned café continues to be our main theme, emphasizing an innovative menu, excellent service, and happy staff. We consider ourselves a community café, a great meeting place for family and friends.

For those new to the area, this café is famous for our delicious fresh food and is one of Cleveland’s most popular choices. We have partnerships with local food businesses, including the Cleveland Farmers Market, Uber Eats, and DoorDash. We also regularly hold community events that focus on mental and physical health and well-being.
